    ・Versions of the RIKEN Modified SHIRPA

  Test items in the RIKEN Modified SHIRPA have been improved, added and deleted for accommodation to study of different purposes. We identify a set of test items for different study as a version. To date, we have four versions of the RIKEN Modified SHIRPA.

V1: This is the first version of the RIKEN Modified SIRPA developed as the primary screening to observe behavior and morphology of mutated mice in the large scale ENU mutagenesis of RINEN Genome Science Center (GSC). This version is constructed in 42 test items from primary screen of original SHIRPA (Rogers et al., 1999) and newly added 16 morphological test items.

V2: To enable more high-throughput screening, this version is constructed in selected test items from the earlier version by exclusion of test items never detected abnormal phenotype.

V3: This version is developed for the Japan Mouse Clinic. In this version, test items are modified, excluded and added for more high-throughput performance and responding to evaluation of mice having various genetic-backgrounds by the following reasons;
  Excluded test items
1)Target phenotypes will be detected by other examinations in JMC phenotyping pipeline.
2)Multiple test Items will be overlapping for a particular target phenotype in previous versions.Added/modified test items
3)JMC accepts analysis of mutant other than B6 genetic-background.
4)The evaluation of important phenotypes was missing in earlier versions.

V4: This is integrated version collecting test items in all previous versions (Version1 to 3). The content of test items adopts that of the Version 3 if same test parameter was included in both the Version 1 and the Version 3. This version is best as the RIKEN modified SHIRPA for comprehensive evaluation of behavior, sensory response and athletic ability.

V5: This version set up for aging research including items added and improved before now (from the version 1.00 to the version 4.20).

For the details of test items included in each version, refer to the page of "List of test items".
